Home Club ME Attends INDEX Home 2019
This year Dubai hosted INDEX 2019, the largest showcase of interior products in the Middle East. With more than 1,000 interior design exhibitors and over 70 visiting countries, Home Club ME was thrilled to be given the chance to explore the pavilions, speak to some of the brands and experience some of the exhibitions expert talks. INDEX was split into 9 market-leading sectors all dedicated to interiors, boasting everything from accessories to lightning, textiles to furnishings, and smart-technology for your home! From graffiti decorated bathtubs to beautiful handmade rugs, INDEX 2019 really had something for everyone. We personally had a wander around INDEX’s new addition ‘INDEX Home’.
From a family run company producing cute kids furniture to designers creating ultra-modern pieces for a cosmopolitan customer base, here is a roundup of some cool brands that we bumped into at INDEX Home 2019.
Up! Warsaw
Nostalgia and creativity are the pillars that drove mom of two Magdalena to launch her company Up! Warsaw. Wanting to give her daughter a piece of her own favourite childhood memory from the local summer circus, Magdalena drilled, sawed and forged her childish fantasy into furniture that allows “the world of our own childhood in the rooms of our little ones – thanks to planes, circuses, balloons and clouds, walls are truly living!”.
Today, Up! Warsaw creates ecological, non-toxic furniture for kids rooms their little workshop in Poland. Each piece is handmade out of wood and painted with non-toxic water based colours. Pretty AND green? We are hooked! Plus, each product has something moveable making it fun to interact with for the kids. With the biplane shelf you can turn the propeller, with the TV shelf you can move the telescopes up and down, on the cloud shelf the drops are waving, and with the circus shelf you can turn the little flag in the direction you want.

Modomoro
From the creative Deer Armchair to our personal favourite, the Y chair (or 3 legged chair), Modomoro is all about encouraging their designers to explore new dimensions. The furniture design and manufacturing studio collaborates with designers from all over the world and manufactures their pieces here in Dubai. At Home Club ME we love the way the Modomoro designs are both incredibly stylish and also very functional (a chair with built in book storage? Yes please!).
Modomoro says;
We are curating a team of designers and artisans driven by curiosity and passion. At Modomoro, furniture is an extension of expression and personality. Our designers create products that narrate stories of creativity and artistry. Our collection focuses on evoking emotions through gripping aesthetics.
We cannot wait to see what they bring out next! To find out more and explore their collections visit www.modomoro.com and IG: @wearemodomoro.
New Citizen Design
Ever wanted to sleep standing? Well now you can, thanks to New Citizen Designs product Paradosso Let It Go.
New Citizen Design is a Dutch brand whose ethos will ring true with all you expats out there. Their design concept is based around the individual, or as they call it, “inter-vidual” who views the earth as their home, want to connect to others, and flourish in a workspace that allows them to think creatively and unilaterally. Here, it is all about urban living and, you guessed it, new citizens.
“A home, to new citizens, is where they feel at home”. This is reflected in New Citizen Design’s products, which prioritise functionality and social iconism, as well as delivers bespoke designs serving as conversational pieces. Some of our personal favourites includes the Belvedere ladder chair and Oasis Vase, and we are obsessed with the beautiful and bold patterned Christie’s Carpets.

So there you have it, our little roundup of some of the favourites spotted at Index 2019. With so many exciting brands and products on show, we cannot wait to see what Index 2020 brings.
