What goes perfectly with self-isolation? Delicious home-brewed coffee, of course! In an effort to keep the coffee community of the UAE and the world at large engaged and interacting with other coffee lovers, Mokha 1450, Dubai’s leading specialty coffee brand, is delighted to announce the world’s first Home Coffee Brewing Championship.
A fun, feel good competition that everyone can enter, the Home Coffee Brewing Champion will take home $2,000 in cash, a 1 in 10 limited edition custom hand-carved Chemex featuring Mokha 1450’s iconic marabea design, and four bags of Mokha 1450’s award-winning Single Origin coffees. How blooming awesome is that!?
HOW TO ENTER
Coffee fans, seasoned baristas, and those brewing coffee at home for the first time can upload a video of themselves to Instagram, between the 31st March-28th April 2020, showcasing their home brewing technique, using the #homecoffeebrewingchampionship hashtag, and tagging Mokha 1450 and World Home Coffee Brewing Championship.
THREE SIMPLE RULES
- The coffee must be brewed from home – any home
- Competitors should use whole specialty coffee beans
- Have fun! (and embrace that all-day loungewear look)
The second-place finisher will take home USD 1,000.00, a custom made Aeropress, and two bags of Mokha 1450’s award-winning Single Origin coffees, while third place will take home USD 500.00, a hand coffee grinder and one bag of Mokha 1450’s award-winning Single Origin coffee.
Garfield Kerr, CEO of Mokha 1450 says;
In response to these trying times we thought that perhaps we could organize a first of its kind event to lift people’s spirits and also provide people isolated in their homes around the world an opportunity to come together around coffee, one of the world’s most unifying subjects.
The beauty of this competition is that anyone, from your seasoned barista, to those brewing specialty coffee at home for the first time can enter for a chance to win prize money that can hopefully provide significant assistance during this global crisis.
